Job summary

MU Health Care in Jefferson City seeks a dedicated Surgical Technician to join our fast-paced operating room team. You will support pre-op through post-op care and coordinate with the surgical team to ensure efficient cases.

This on-site role at Capital Region Medical Center offers competitive hourly pay, with base range $27.21–$42.99 and retention/loan repayment incentives; benefits include insurance from day one and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification by NBSTSA, or CORST certification by NHA, or TS-C certification by NCCT.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates the needs of the surgical team.
• Assists with the teaching of newly hired technologists and student technologists.
• Serves as a role model to new employees and other staff members.
• Communicates effectively with patients, staff members and physicians.
• Adheres to standards, including unit and hospital policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and patient safety goals.
• Demonstrates appropriate and correct case preparation.
• Establishes and maintains sterile field and assures team maintains sterile environment independently.
• Applies basic knowledge of instrumentations to multiple surgical cases.
• Performs technical duties involving care, preparation and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment in the operating rooms to provide a safe environment.
• Completes department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

Education
