Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Beaumont, TX seeks a Surgical Technologist to prepare the operating room and assist during procedures. You will maintain aseptic technique, scrub in for multiple specialties, and support the surgical team with instrument handling and patient safety.

The role requires a Surgical Technology credential or LVN/LPN program completion, high school diploma, and BLS certification, with 2+ years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program is required.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains sterile field, passes instruments, and assists the surgeon as directed.
• Performs duties under supervision of a professional nurse during delivery of direct patient care in the OR.
• Proficiently scrub 3 specialty areas including Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Robotics, etc., highly preferred.
• Ensures universal barrier precautions for patient and staff safety.
• Maintains OR sanitation, proper traffic control, and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Performs decontamination, processing, and sterilization of instruments and supplies per facility policy.
