Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR with instruments, equipment, and supplies based on procedure and physician preference.
• Maintain a sterile field throughout procedures per aseptic technique.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently during operations.
• Handle instruments and equipment per policy, including sterilization and inspection.
• Document sponge, needle, and instrument counts for patient safety.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and transfer under RN direction.
