Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond, VA seeks a Certified Obstetric Surgical Technologist to join a collaborative obstetric and surgical team. You will prepare the surgical suite, support the team during procedures, and help ensure compassionate, safe care for newborns and families.

With access to training and mentorship, the position offers predictable scheduling with on-call support, and clear pathways for growth within the HCA Healthcare system.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate / GED required.
• Vocational School Graduate required.
• (ST) Surgical Technologist or (CST) certification required, or pending certification within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical suite and organize instruments, equipment, and supplies for obstetric procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety.
• Provide instruments, equipment and hands-on support to the surgical team during obstetric procedures.
• Maintain sterile field, perform counts, and ensure instruments and equipment function properly.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver patient-centered care and a seamless obstetric experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing the surgical suite and organizing instruments, equipment, and supplies to support safe, efficient procedures
• Assisting with patient positioning, prepping, and draping while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety
• Providing instruments, equipment, and hands‑on support to the surgical team during obstetric procedures
• Maintaining a sterile field, performing counts, and ensuring instruments and equipment function properly
• Working closely with the surgical team to deliver patient-centered care and a seamless surgical experience

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED
• Vocational School Graduate
• (ST) Surgical Technologist, or (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist
