Job summary

Henrico Doctors' Hospital is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist in Virginia. The role involves maintaining a sterile field, scrubbing for procedures, and coordinating equipment and supplies based on patient needs.

You will contribute to cost containment, work within the Surgical Services Team, and support on-call coverage while pursuing ongoing professional growth and adhering to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Surgical Technology Program or on the Job Training
• 1 Year Of Experience As a Surgical Technologist (Preferred)
• Certified Surgical Technologist by VA and National certification required
• BLS certification within 30 day grace period

Responsibilities

• Utilizes aseptic technique to create and maintain a sterile field.
• Demonstrates competency in scrubbing for unit scope of care.
• Plans and provides equipment and supplies based on patient and physician needs.
• Promotes cost containment while delivering quality patient care in the OR.
• Works as a member of the Surgical Services Team to promote teamwork.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• Utilizes principles of aseptic technique in creating and maintaining a sterile field.
• Demonstrates competency in scrubbing as it relates to unit scope of care.
• Plans and provides equipment and supplies based on patient and physician needs.
• Promotes cost containment while delivering quality patient care within the operating room.
• Works as a member of the Surgical Services Team to promote teamwork.
• Demonstrates flexibility to perform other functions within Surgical Services and procedural areas to assist in the smooth operation of the departments and maintain competencies as appropriate.
• Pursues own professional growth through continuing education and in services.
• Participates in department on-call assignments and demonstrates flexibility to cover staffing as needed.
• Adheres to hospital policies and procedures; supports the mission of the hospital.
• Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

Experience

Required – Graduate of Surgical Technology Program or on the Job Training

Preferred – One Year Of Experience As a Surgical Technologist.

EDUCATION

Required – Certified Surgical Technologist by State of VA
