Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist III to support the Perioperative Services - CVOR. This internal, part-time role involves prep, equipment maintenance, patient care during pre-operation, and active participation in process improvements.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technologist program or 2 years' OR experience as a Surgical Scrub Tech/LPN or military training required.
• 2 years’ OR experience preferred for CVOR.
• Surgical Technician Certification (CST) required; CPR and BLS certification required.

• Assist in transporting patient to/from operating room.
• Participate in CVOR process improvement projects.
• Work mainly in CVOR; may float to Main Operating Room.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Position Summary

Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures. Follows hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patient during pre-operation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body and medical equipment
• Assists in transporting patient to and from the operating room
• Will be actively involved in process improvement projects
• Works mainly in CVOR, but may float to Main Operating Room
• Does other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or 2 years' experience in an operating room as a Surgical Scrub Tech and/or LPN or military training required
• 2 years’ experience, CVOR preferred
• Surgical Technician Certification (CST) required
• Operating room experience required
• Competent in more than two specialty areas
• Must be certified to perform CPR
• BLS required
