Job summary

Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the Operating Room within Perioperative Services. The role focuses on preparing and maintaining surgical equipment and assisting in pre-operation procedures to ensure patient safety.

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or 2 years' OR experience as a Surgical Scrub Tech and/or LPN or military training required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room required.
• Competent in two specialty areas required.
• BLS required.

• Schedule/Shift/Hours Part Time - Nights - 12 Hour Shifts

Position Summary

Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures. Follows hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patient during pre-operation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body and medical equipment
• Assists in transporting patient to and from the operating room
• Actively involved in process improvement
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or 2 years' experience in an operating room as a Surgical Scrub Tech and/or LPN or military training required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room required
• Competent in two specialty areas required
• BLS required

Working Conditions

• Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs
