Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist II to join the operating room team. You will prepare sterile supplies and equipment for surgical procedures and support the room team with patient care activities, following established guidelines and focusing on patient safety.

Required graduation from an accredited surgical technology program (or military program), a minimum of one year CST experience, CST credential, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program or surgical technology military program.
• Minimum of one year of work experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Credentialed as CST by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting and must be maintained.
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification or American Red Cross BLS is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies and equipment used in surgical procedures.
• Perform appropriate room duties involved with direct patient care.
• Adhere to established procedural guidelines and participate in patient care with consideration of patients' families.
