Job summary

MUHA in South Carolina seeks Certified Surgical Technologists to join the Labor & Delivery OR team. The role supports sterile prep, instrument handling, and room duties for C-sections and other procedures, with a focus on patient- and family-centered care.

Shifts are day, 36 hours per week, with 3-12 hour day shifts, under supervision or nurse manager. The CST I/II levels require graduation from an accredited program and CST certification; BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Credentialed as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (formerly LCC-ST) required and must be maintained.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required

Responsibilities

• CST I - Functions as a member of the operating room team to prepare sterile supplies and equipment and perform appropriate room duties involved with direct patient care.
• CST II - Follows established procedural guides in preparation of sterile supplies and equipment, performs room duties and functions autonomously as a member of the operating room team.
