Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join the Labor & Delivery operating room team. The role supports sterile prep and intraoperative duties, under supervision, with opportunities for progression from CST I to CST II.

Responsibilities include preparing sterile supplies, assisting with patient care, and upholding procedural guidelines.

Qualifications

• CST I - High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited school of surgical technology or surgical technology military program. New graduates must obtain certification within 90 days of graduation. Two years experience within the operating room setting preferred.
• CST II - Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or surgical technology military program and a minimum of one year of work experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist required. The Level II practitioner demonstrates a higher level of critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies and equipment used in the surgical procedures.
• Assist with direct patient care and support operating room team in alignment with guidelines.
