Job summary

McLaren Health Care seeks a certified Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons in the operating room, prepare patients, rooms, and equipment, and maintain sterile technique during procedures. The role supports the surgical team and adheres to safety and infection-control standards.

You will help with instrument counts, transfer of care, and related clerical tasks while ensuring HIPAA/OSHA compliance and patient safety throughout the perioperative process.

Qualifications

• Must have accredited surgical technology training.
• Certification as a surgical technologist NBSTSA required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• At least 1 month of related experience or training.
• Strong sterile technique and patient safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating rooms, ensuring all equipment and supplies are disinfected, assembled and in working order.
• Maintains sterile field and monitors patient status pre-operatively.
• Assists during surgery as scrub nurse; passes instruments and helps with counts.
• Transports patients as needed and assists with postoperative care.
• Performs clerical duties and supports infection-control policies.
• Upholds HIPAA and OSHA compliance; ensures a safe environment.
