Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Certification as a surgical technologist (NBSTSA) is required.
• 1 month of job-related experience and/or training.
• Valid BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating rooms, ensuring equipment and supplies are disinfected, assembled and functional.
• Maintains sterile field in the operating room.
• Provides supportive care during the pre-operative phase.
• Prepares patient skin for surgery and assists with patient positioning.
• Assists during surgery by passing sterile instruments, counts, labeling specimens and helping dress wounds.
• Ensures rooms are clean, sterile, and stocked for next procedure.
• Performs clerical duties and supports administrative staff as needed.
• Delivers compassionate support to patients and families.
• Complies with HIPAA, OSHA and other health care regulations.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment.
