Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist Department: Surgical Services
Reports to: Director of Surgical Services Revision Date: 9/16/2020
Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
The Certified Surgical Technologist assists in providing nursing care and preparation of surgical patients of all ages appropriate for the surgery unit. Provides services under the general direction of the Director of Surgical Services or their designee, and in accordance with the objectives, policies, and procedures of the nursing department and established professional standards. Functions as a member of the sterile team. Effectively interacts with patients, healthcare members, while maintaining AORN (Association of Operating Room Nurses), AAMI ( Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation) and NBSTA (The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting ) standards of professional care delivery. Services include, but are not limited to: scrubbing for orthopedics, urology, general, OB GYN, ophthalmology, ENT, podiatry, and endoscopy.
