NorthStar Surgical Center in Lubbock, TX is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. This full-time role supports a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring instruments and supplies are ready and sterile for the surgeon.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technology course.
• CST certification is required.
• BCLS certification is required.
• Knowledge of standard OR protocols and conduct.

Responsibilities

• Function as the Operating Room Technician on a variety of surgical procedures.
• Select and prepare the appropriate supplies and equipment for the surgical cases.
• Operate surgical equipment (lights, suction, etc.).
• Scrub on surgical cases and organize instrumentation and the sterile field.
• Assist in instrument counts: instruments, sponges, sharps, needles.
• Assist the circulator with patient transfer, positioning, and room turnover.
• Participate in quality improvement, continuing education, and orientation.
• Transport specimens to the lab and assist in room turnover.
