Job summary

Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital in Lubbock, TX seeks a dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team.

Responsibilities include scrubbing, instrument handling, and assisting surgeons during procedures, while maintaining sterile technique and contributing to patient safety. Full-time days with opportunities for professional growth and a family-oriented atmosphere.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Successful completion of a course in Surgical Technology is required.
• CST certification is required.
• Certification in BLS is required.
• Knowledge of standard AORN OR protocols, procedures, and conduct.

Responsibilities

• Function as the Operating Room Technician on a variety of surgical procedures.
• Select and prepare the appropriate supplies and equipment for the surgical cases.
• Operate surgical equipment such as lights and suction.
• Scrub on cases and assist in exposure of the surgical field, handing instruments to the surgeon.
• Participate in surgical counts and room turnover activities.
• Assist the circulator with patient transfer, positioning, and fluids management.
• Engage in quality improvement, continuing education, and orientation of new personnel.
• Transport specimens to lab and assist in cleaning/restocking operating rooms.
