Job summary

St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton, CA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to prepare and maintain the sterile field for procedures and support the surgical team throughout operations.

Responsibilities include setting up the sterile operating room, organizing instruments, assisting surgeons and anesthesiologists, and managing sterile supply flow with strict adherence to aseptic technique and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist credential is required.
• American Heart Association BLS is required.
• Minimum six months' experience in an acute care Surgery Department or equivalent; ORT externship within the last year may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Safely and competently perform tasks and procedures per Medical Center policy; support scrub technician duties, clinical practice standards, and team collaboration.
• Safely and competently use and manage surgical equipment; ensure devices are in operating order and used per manufacturer instructions, including autoclaves and Steris equipment.
