Job summary

Avera Marshall Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Day Shift to support intraoperative care under the Surgery Leader and/or Surgeon. You will handle sterile processing, maintain aseptic technique, and assist the surgical team in the operating room and related areas.

Required is a technical certificate in surgical technology with CST or TS-C certification upon hire; 1–3 years of surgical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Technical certificate in surgical technology required.
• CST or TS-C certification obtained on hire, NBSTSA or NCCT accepted.
• Experience in intraoperative patient care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon within scope of competency and standards.
• Maintain infection control and aseptic techniques throughout surgery.
• Sterilize and wash equipment; prepare and arrange OR instruments.
• Support SPD activities: cleaning and sterilizing instruments for OR/ER/clinics.
• Verify patient identity, procedure, site, surgeon and consent; perform counts.
