Avera Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide high-quality care in the operating room under the supervision of the Surgery Leader and Surgeon. You will support sterile processing and intraoperative procedures within the OR and other clinical areas.

The ideal candidate holds a Technical Certificate in Surgical Technology with CST or TS-C certification upon hire and may have 1–3 years of surgical experience.

Qualificações

• Technical Certificate graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• CST (Certified Surgical Tech) certification upon hire or
• TS-C (Tech in Surgery) certification upon hire.

Responsabilidades

• Assist surgeon within scope of competency and standards of practice.
• Maintain infection control and sterile field in OR and SPD.
• Update preference cards so teams can perform procedures per surgeon requests.
• Comply with regulatory requirements and standards of practice.
• Verify patient identity, procedure, site, surgeon and consent.
• Apply aseptic technique throughout intraoperative period.
• Perform sponge, needle and instrument counts as per policy.
• Evaluate new supplies, equipment and instruments.
• Arrange equipment and supplies in the OR as instructed.
