Zusammenfassung

Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technician to support pre-, intra-, and post-procedure activities. You will prepare the OR, assist the surgeon, maintain sterile fields, and manage instruments and implants.

This position requires a Technical Certificate in surgical technology, NBSTSA CST certification preferred, and the ability to work rotating days/evenings/nights with some weekend calls.

Qualifikationen

• Requires a Technical Certificate from an accredited Surgical Technician program.
• Certified Surgical Tech (CST) by NBSTSA preferred.
• Less than 1 year experience as a Surgical Technician acceptable upon hire.

Aufgaben

• Prepares the Operating Room for procedures, organizing equipment and instruments.
• Assists surgeon as first or second scrub person during surgeries.
• Maintains a sterile field at all times in the procedure area.
• Handles instrument counting and specimen verification with the team.
• Operates sterilization equipment and assists with on-the-job training of staff.
