Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa is hiring a Surgical Technician to prepare the operating room and maintain sterile technique for various procedures. The role supports OR teams, scrubs in general, gynecology, urology, podiatry, and plastics, and may serve as 2nd-4th scrub depending on case mix.

Schedule is full-time, days, with 6:45am–3:15pm or 6:45am–5:15pm, and 8-10 hour shifts available. CST/LPN options and BLS are required or pursued per policy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or completion of surgical tech apprenticeship/military program.
• LPN with surgical experience or equivalent competency.
• CST certification preferred but not required in IA; required within 18 months if in IL; LPN license if trained as LPN.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, instruments, equipment and supplies; maintain sterile field during procedures.
• Scrub for general, gynecologic, urology, podiatry, plastics; may be 2nd-4th scrub.
• Adhere to MercyOne performance expectations and support mission/values.
