Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Frisco, Texas, invites experienced CST to join our Surgery team. This full-time, day-shift role supports peri-operative care across multiple specialties in a modern 8-operating room unit.

You will assist in pre-, intra-, and post-operative care, collaborating with RN circulators to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes. On-call rotation and on-site duties highlight our dedicated surgical service.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent and prior practice in a health care facility.
• Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program or military training in surgical tech.
• CST-certified and BCLS-compliant prior to independent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing peri-operative care for infants to elderly patients.
• Preoperatively assist RN circulator in formulating the care plan.
• Coordinate peri-operative care and uphold professional nursing standards.
• Post-operatively assist with instrument and supply handling under supervision.
• Help minimize infection risk and protect patient from injury.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement in care delivery.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate patient care across life stages.

Certified Surgical Technologist, CST (Full Time-Day)- Surgery

Our close-knit Surgery unit is looking for an experienced CST to join our team! Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Frisco, 12400 N Dallas Parkway TX 75033

Work hours: Full Time - 36 hours; Day Shift; Three -12 hour shifts variable; Rotating On-Call required (2-3 Day/Month)

• Work Neuro, ortho, robotic, eye, plastics, GYN, general, podiatry & urology Cases

Here’s What You Need

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009. Required Or
• Other Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, vocational nurse program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology. Preferred
• At least 1 year of CST experience strongly preferred
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist graduate of an accredited surgical tech program Upon Hire Req Or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009 Upon Hire Req Or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology Upon Hire Req Or
• LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire Req And
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Upon Hire Required

What You Will Do

• Assist in providing peri-operative care for a patient population that includes Infants, Pediatrics, Adults, and Geriatrics
• Preoperatively assist R.N. circulator in formulating plan of care
• Assist as needed in coordinating patient care peri-operatively and assume responsibility and accountability for behavior in order to maintain standards for professional nursing practice
• Post-operatively follow proper procedures for care of instruments, supplies and equipment. Under supervision, assist RN circulator with post-operative duties
• Assists in the delivering of nursing care in a manner that minimizes the risk of transfer of infection and accidental contamination.
• Assists in delivering care in a manner which protects the patient from injury.
• Care is provided with an emphasis on continually improving quality, service and cost effectiveness.
• Demonstrates competence in assisting with the performance of age appropriate patient care that is specific to the unique physiological and anatomic aspects of life from the very young to the older adult.
