Job summary

BSA Hospital in Amarillo, TX seeks a day shift, full-time Surgical Technologist (CST). The CST operates under surgeons and RNs to facilitate invasive procedures and maintain sterile fields, ensuring safety and proper equipment function throughout the operation.

Qualifications include a CAAHEP-accredited program and CST certification (NBSTSA/NCCT). BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire. Prior CST experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.
• Must hold and maintain CST certification from NBSTSA or NCCT (if practicing prior to 2009).
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) works under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
• The CST ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
• This role ensures the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.

Qualifications

Job Requirements :

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.
• Must hold and maintain certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or NCCT certification if practicing prior to 2009.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Previous experience as a surgical technologist.
