Job summary

Physicians Surgical Hospitals, L.L.C. is seeking a day-shift, full-time Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) at Quail Creek Surgical Hospital in Amarillo, TX. The CST works under surgeons, RNs, and staff to ensure sterile technique and safe, efficient operations during invasive procedures.

The role requires NBSTSA or NCCT CST certification, BLS within 14 days of hire, and completion of a CAAHEP-accredited program. Prior CST experience is preferred to support our patient-first culture.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification with NBSTSA or NCCT (if practicing prior to 2009).
• BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer before direct patient care.
• Completed CAAHEP-accredited or nationally accredited program for surgical technologists.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures under supervision.
• Maintain sterile field and ensure patient safety during operative care.
• Ensure operating room environment, equipment function, and procedures maximize patient safety.

Responsibilities

• The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) works under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
• The CST ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly vigilant in maintaining the sterile field.
• This role ensures the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety .

Job Requirements :

• Certification: Must hold and maintain certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or NCCT certification if practicing prior to 2009.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Education: Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Previous experience as a surgical technologist.
