Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence in El Paso, Texas is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a full‑time, rotating position. Expect 40 hours per week with 8‑hour shifts. The tech demonstrates scrub skills, maintains aseptic technique, sets up instruments and sterile supplies, and passes instruments during procedures.

Call coverage is required as scheduled. Education: graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program. Experience: preferred 1 year.

Qualifications

• Requires AHA BLS and Surgical Technology certification.

Job Summary

The Certified Surgical Tech demonstrates basic knowledge and skills in the scrub role, necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department.

• The Certified Surgical Tech is responsible for aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment, instrumentation and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases; scrubbing and passing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures; pulling cases as needed, breaking down cases at the end of the procedure, sets up operating room and supplies needed for day/following day’s schedule.
• Available for call on an assigned scheduled basis as required by unit need.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  

Education:

• Required: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program.
