Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence - Sierra Campus in El Paso, TX is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to provide scrub support during surgical procedures. You will prepare sterile setups, act as a scrub, and ensure instruments are ready and ready for case needs.

The role requires BLS certification and a graduate of an approved surgical technology program, with a preferred 1 year of experience in the OR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• AHA BLS and Surgical Technology certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain aseptic technique and set up equipment and sterile supplies for cases.
• Scrub and pass instruments during procedures and stage the operating room.
• Be available for on-call as scheduled and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full Time
The Certified Surgical Tech demonstrates basic knowledge and skills in the scrub role, necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department.

Responsibilities

• The Certified Surgical Tech is responsible for aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment, instrumentation and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases; scrubbing and passing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures; pulling cases as needed, breaking down cases at the end of the procedure, sets up operating room and supplies needed for day/following day’s schedule.
• Available for call on an assigned scheduled basis as required by unit need.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

• Required: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program.

Experience:

• Preferred: 1 year.

Certifications:

• Required: AHA BLS. Surgical Technology certification.\
