The Hospitals of Providence East Campus is accepting applications for a Certified Surgical Technician to join the operating room team in El Paso, TX. The role focuses on aseptic technique, equipment setup, instrument handling, and assisting surgeons during procedures.

Qualified candidates Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program with a Surgical Technology certification and BLS. 1 year preferred; associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program.
• Associate degree is preferred.
• Experience of 1 year is preferred.
• AHA BLS certification and Surgical Technology certification are required.

Responsabilités

• Maintain aseptic technique and prepare equipment, instrumentation and sterile supplies for procedures.
• Scrub and pass instruments during surgeries and assist in case setup and turnover.
• Respond to on-call demands as scheduled and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Job Shift: Nights

Job Type: Full Time
The Certified Surgical Tech demonstrates basic knowledge and skills in the scrub role, necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department.

Responsibilities

• The Certified Surgical Tech is responsible for aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment, instrumentation and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases; scrubbing and passing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures; pulling cases as needed, breaking down cases at the end of the procedure, sets up operating room and supplies needed for day/following day’s schedule.
• Available for call on an assigned scheduled basis as required by unit need.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

• Required: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program.
• Preferred: Associate degree.

Experience:

• Preferred: 1 year.

Certifications:

• Required: AHA BLS.
• Surgical Technology certification.
