Job summary

Talentburst,-Inc is seeking a Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech for a 6-week assignment at 1555 Long Pond Rd, Rochester, NY 14626. The role is day shift, 4×10s, 40 hours per week, with extensive coverage across 12 surgical specialties.

Candidates must have CST/NBSTSA and 4 years of OR experience, pass a skills assessment in Bariatrics, Vascular, Thoracic, Ortho and Neuro, and will be traveling with scrubs provided.

Qualifications

• Certifications CST and NBSTSA required.
• 4 years of OR tech experience with multiple specialties.
• Must pass skills assessment in Bariatrics, Vascular, Thoracic, Ortho and Neuro.
• First-time travelers not accepted; local candidates over 75 miles away.
• EMR: Epic preferred; scrubs provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist in OR procedures across 12 specialties.
• Maintain aseptic technique and sterile field throughout cases.
• Sterilize and prepare instruments and implants as needed.
• Manage specimens and ensure proper labeling and handling.
• Support time-out and Universal Protocol compliance.

Job description

Title: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech
Duration: 6 week
Location:1555 Long Pond Rd Rochester, NY 14626
Schedule: Day Shift 4*10s 40hour/week

• Certifications: CST, NBSTSA

• Experience: 4 years; candidates with 3–4 years may be screened

• Hard Stop: Must pass skills assessment in Bariatrics, Vascular, Thoracic, Ortho, and Neuro

• First-Time Travelers: Not accepted

• Local Candidates: Not accepted; must be more than 75 miles from facility

• Call/Weekends: 6 shifts per 8-week contract, including weekends and holidays

• EMR: Epic preferred

• Scrubs: Provided

• Service Lines: 12 specialties

• CST Exception: Not required if the traveler worked as a tech in NY before 2015

Required Skills:

• Bariatrics/General Surgery: Gastric bypass/sleeve, lap band, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair

• Vascular: AAA repair, carotid angioplasty/endarterectomy, EVAR, fem-pop bypass

• Thoracic/ENT: Mediastinoscopy, VATS, direct laryngoscopy, radical neck dissection, tonsillectomy, tracheostomy

• GYN: Colporrhaphy, tubal ligation, cervical cerclage, D&C, laparoscopic GYN procedures

• Neuro/Spine: Craniotomy, VP shunt, laminectomy/discectomy, cervical/lumbar fusion, XLIF

• Orthopedics: Carpal tunnel release, fracture reduction, total hip/knee replacement, bunionectomy, metatarsal surgery

• Plastics/Robotics: TRAM flap reconstruction, colorectal robotic surgery, Da Vinci Xi

• Urology: Cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, TURP, lithotripsy, ureteroscopy

• Other: Sterilization/decontamination, aseptic technique, management/lead experience, sharps safety, specimen handling, Universal Protocol/time-out procedure
