AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our sterile processing team, supporting multiple surgical specialties and delivering safe patient care.

You will prepare sterile dressings, assist with terminal cleaning, respond to emergencies, and ensure supplies and equipment readiness for procedures, while upholding the highest standards of asepsis and teamwork. Requires CST/NTSC or Technician in Surgery, BLS, and 1+ year scrub experience.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills required for team collaboration.
• Completion of validation skills required.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, and sterile field setup.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques.
• Laser skills/training may be required.
• Ability to precept and act as resource person in multiple surgical specialties.
• Minimum of one year scrub experience in a multi-disciplinary surgical service.
• Professional specialization in one or more surgical areas as determined by Director.
• Proficiency in English language.

Job Description

• Prepares sterile dressings and clean instruments for terminal sterilization.


• Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient. Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy.


• Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately.


• Other duties as assigned.


• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.

• Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia, surgical site infection prevention, emergency code cart, high and low level disinfection, clinical alarms, medication management, isolation precautions, surgical care of patients age (0-100+), fire safety, AIDET, and SBAR [Required]

Education

• Associate [Preferred]


• High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]


• Technical/Vocational School [Required]

Work Experience

• 2+ years of experience as certified surgical tech


• Proficient in a minimum of 3 major surgical specialties [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]


• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR


• Technician in Surgery - Certified (NTSC) [Required]

Pay Range

$23.94 - $44.53
