Job summary

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Richmond is seeking a Surgical Technologist to scrub for procedures in an ambulatory setting. You will maintain a sterile field, prepare supplies and equipment, and support the surgical team throughout the procedure.

Position requires weekdays only (1 weekend day a month) with potential early mornings and late evenings; schedule may change with the surgical flow. Strong teamwork and aseptic technique are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Surgical Technician program completion or equivalent experience.
• State and/or center certification as required.
• Ambulatory surgical center experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient management.
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and implementation.
• Teamwork and communication with staff, patients, and physicians.

Welcome to Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Richmond

We have 4 OR rooms and perform outpatient surgical procedures in GI, Colorectal, Orthopedic, Pain, Spine, Podiatry.Position requires weekdays only (1 weekend day a month) -- no holidays or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Surgical Technologist/Scrub Tech at Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Richmond

The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures. Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certification as required by state and/or center
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must excel in teamwork and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physicians
