Job summary

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Memorial Village in Houston is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. We have 8 OR rooms and 2 treatment rooms, performing outpatient procedures across Colon Rectal, Neurological, GYN, Oculoplastic, Orthopedic, ENT, Pain Management, Podiatry, General, Plastic & Reconstructive, Urology, Gastroenterology, and Ophthalmology.

The position is weekdays only with no holidays, weekends, or on-call requirements; some early mornings or later

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; surgical technician program or equivalent.
• Certification as required by state/center.
• Ambulatory surgical center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs for surgical procedures and assists as a member of the surgical team.
• Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to procedures.
• Supports quality improvement activities.

Welcome to Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Memorial Village
We have 8 OR rooms and 2 treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Colon Rectal, Neurological, GYN, Oculoplastic, Orthopedic, ENT, Pain Management, Podiatry, General, Plastic & Reconstructive, Urology, Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures. Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.
Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certification as required by state and/or center
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must excel in teamwork and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physicians
