Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for TriStar Summit Medical Center in Nashville, TN. The role focuses on preparing operating room environments, assisting surgeons, and maintaining sterile technique throughout procedures.

The ideal candidate will hold NBSTSA certification, have BCLS/CPR within 30 days of start, and preferably possess about one year of experience in the surgical technologist field. Comprehensive benefits and a strong patient-care culture are offered.

Qualifications

• BCLS/CPR must be maintained or obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• NBSTSA Surgical Tech certification is required (NCCT not accepted).
• One-year experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Did you get into our industry for these reasons? We offer a vast array of robotic surgical technology including gynecology, general, thoracic, urology, spine and joint replacement. Services offered at Summit include Gynecology, urology, neurology, spine, orthopedics, general, ENT, plastics and vascular. Your responsibilities and tasks may include:

• Prepare and organize the operating room equipment, instruments, and supplies as required for various surgical procedures
• Anticipate surgeon and patient needs during a procedure
• Take care of specimens, prepare, check, and monitor medications, and assist with dressings
• Set up a sterile and sanitary environment, and maintain the sterile field for the patient during procedures
• Utilize correct body mechanics in moving, transporting, and positioning patients, stretchers, and/or tables in order to prevent injury to patient and personnel
• Follow relevant safety and sanitation guidelines
• Participate in orientation and education of all operating room staff on an ongoing basis
• Participate in stocking and restocking medical supplies
• Provide surgeons and patients with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor, or CPR must be obtained within30 days of employment start date
• Surgical Tech Certification Required - NCCT certification NOT accepted, NBSTSA required.
• One-year experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred
