Job summary

TriStar Summit Medical Center in Nashville, TN, is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT scans with emphasis on image quality and patient safety. You will work with radiologists and clinical staff to deliver timely exams and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include preparing trays, starting IVs for contrast, maintaining documentation, and participating in on-call coverage as needed. ARRT CT certification and BLS are required, with 1 year of post-graduate experience preferred.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The CT Tech performs CT scans, providing the highest level of customer service and image quality.

What You Will Do in This Role

• You will perform CT exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care.
• You will prepare procedure trays with appropriate supplies.
• You will take patient history and retrieve any necessary orders or prior images.
• You will provide patient history, signs, and symptoms appropriate to the exam to the radiologist.
• You will appropriately complete documentation.
• You will coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete.
• You will support ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
• You will inform patients about procedures and answer questions.
• You will interact and professionally communicate with physicians, patients, and family members.
• You will start IVs for contrast administration.
• You will use the power injector.
• You will contribute to after-hour coverage through on-call shift rotations.
• You will maintain all licenses, certifications, and accreditations required as outlined in job qualifications.
• You will handle daily upkeep of departmental work areas (cleaning, stocking, etc.).
• You will promote customer service initiatives by adhering to the ICARE values.
• You will support and participate in quality (QI) and performance improvement (PI) plans.
• You will comply with quarterly targeted metrics (i.e., Kronos, HealthStream, PACS, etc.).
• You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
• You will perform other duties as assigned.

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• ARRT (R)
• ARRT (CT) within 1 year of hire or within 6 months of eligibility.
• 1 year post-graduate experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
