Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is seeking an Operating Room Tech to prepare sterile supplies and instruments for assigned procedures. The role requires maintaining a sterile field and supplying the surgeon with needed instruments during operations.

This per diem position in the Surgery department in Elgin, IL offers dayshift work with a flexible schedule and an emphasis on teamwork and patient care. Certification and BLS are required at hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required.
• Graduate of ORT program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years’ experience (surgical setting preferred).
• Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties (GYN, General, Plastics).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years’ experience (surgical setting preferred).
• Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics).
• Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Pay Transparency

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $38.00. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
