Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking a Certified Operating Room Tech to prepare sterile supplies and instruments for each procedure, maintain the sterile field during cases, and provide the surgeon with supplies during procedures. The role requires ARR-friendly ORT experience and certification, including BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with 3+ years experience in surgical setting.
• Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Experience scrubbing in GYN, General and Plastics.
• Experience scrubbing in ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro, etc.
• Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

The Certified Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
2. Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years’ experience (surgical setting preferred).
3. Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
4. Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics).
5. Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.).
6. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $28.00 to $38.00.
