Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital is seeking a Certified Operating Room Technician for per diem shifts. The role focuses on preparing sterile supplies and keeping the sterile field intact during procedures, while assisting the surgeon with instruments and supplies as needed.

Qualified candidates will hold a High School Diploma, have ORT/CST training, CST certification, and experience scrubbing in varied surgical specialties. BLS certification is preferred upon hire and at time of employment.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an ORT or CST training program or equivalent on-the-job training.
• Current CST certification required.
• Experience scrubbing in multiple surgical specialties preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies and instruments for each procedure.
• Maintain sterile field during cases and assist surgeon by providing instruments and supplies.

Job description

Responsibilities

The Certified Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.

Qualifications

• 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• 2. Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years’ experience (surgical setting preferred).
• 3. Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• 4. Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics).
• 5. Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.).
• 6. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Pay Transparency

Olympia Fields Hospital offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $25.63. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
