Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the Operating Room, maintaining sterile fields and assisting RNs in the Labor and Delivery Recovery Unit. The role requires BLS and CPR certification and prior OR experience.

The candidate will support instrument handling, equipment maintenance, and turnover between cases, ensuring patient safety and efficient workflow within the OR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of approved school of allied health or surgical technology.
• Previous Operating Room experience preferred.
• BLS required.
• National certification required.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate patient care.
• Maintains sterile field and instrumentation under RN supervision.
• Stocks and restocks supplies in all areas of the OR.
• Assists with turnover of labor rooms and cleaning/maintenance of equipment.
• Assists in nursing care under the direction of the RN in the LDRP.
• Adheres to aseptic principles and safety practices.
