Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program or equivalent.
• Certification within 1 year of employment; grandfathering applies for staff hired before 2012.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and OR standards as per professional guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, instruments, equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Position and prepare patients for surgery under supervision.
• Pass instruments, sponges and sutures to the surgeon during cases.
• Support scrub and circulator roles and assist team as needed.
• Report status of procedures to the relief team and maintain aseptic conditions.
