Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network in Bucks County, PA seeks a Certified Scrub Technician to support the surgical team. You will register patients and prepare instruments, supplies, and medications for procedures while maintaining sterile technique.

The role requires NJ/PA certification on hire (or within six months for new graduates) and on-the-job training. You must demonstrate manual dexterity, be able to stand for long periods, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced operating room.

Qualifications

• NJ/PA certification required upon hire (or within six months for new graduates).
• On-the-job training provided; minimum 1-1/2 years experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure.
• Scrubs, gowns, and gloves self and members of the surgical team.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure and ensures they are in good working condition.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed.
• Assists with draping sterile field.
• Passes instruments, retractors and suture etc., to surgeon during procedure.
• Demonstrates ability to anticipate need of the surgical team.
• Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during procedure.
• Handles surgical specimens appropriately and safely.
• Handles sharps and medications following OR safety policies.
