Job summary

Methodist Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the perioperative team. You will assist with delivering high-quality surgical care by planning for the surgeon’s needs and coordinating with the circulating nurse during procedures.

Responsibilities include gathering sterile supplies, preparing the sterile field, and supplying instruments to the surgeon to maintain a safe, efficient operation. Compliance with AORN and facility policies is essential.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED equivalent required.
• Graduate of a surgical technologist program OR substitutes with 1-year hospital experience as a surgical technologist for hires prior to 9/1/2009.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivering quality surgical care by planning and anticipating the surgeon/procedure needs.
• Coordinate with the circulating perioperative nurse during procedures.
• Gather and prepare sterile supplies and equipment; maintain the sterile field.
• Assist the surgeon by supplying sterile instruments and supplies to the sterile field.
• Perform routine scrub role and follow current standards and policies.
