Job summary

Canyon Vista Medical Center in Sierra Vista, AZ seeks a Certified Surgical Technician (Surg Tech) for a PRN role with 10‑hour shifts in our perioperative team. This position offers meaningful hands-on care in a fast-paced hospital setting and opportunities to grow professionally.

You will maintain sterile technique, prepare the OR, assist with instruments, monitor equipment, and support the surgical team throughout procedures.

Qualifications

Completed a Surgical Tech Program and current BLS certification.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
1–2 years of surgical tech experience preferred.
Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

Maintain the sterile field in the operating room and ensure aseptic techniques.
Set up the operating room and organize sterile instruments and supplies.
Check, adjust, and operate equipment such as sterilizers, lights, suction, and electrosurgical units.
Maintain fluids for use during surgery and assist with patient preparation.
Prepare, transport, position patients and assist with draping.
Scrub hands/arms and pass instruments to the surgeon as needed.
Anticipate surgeon needs and provide sterile items efficiently.
Assist with specimen handling and post-procedure room cleanup.
