Tenet Healthcare’s North Central Baptist Hospitals in San Antonio, TX seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to support operative care across the perioperative continuum. You will assist in scrubbing, prepping ORs, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting the perioperative team to ensure safe procedures.

Eligible candidates may qualify for a sign-on bonus; requires graduation from an approved surgical technology program with CST/NCCT/TS-C certs and BLS within 60 days of hire, plus 1 year

Qualifications

• High-school graduate and Graduate of a DOE or CHEA accredited surgical technology program.
• 1 year as a Surgical or OB Technologist in acute care or ambulatory setting (preferred).
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT or TS-C certification.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 60 days of hire.

Responsabilités

• Escorts or transports patients which may require applying appropriate transfer techniques
• Sets up the operating room with supplies and equipment according to the requirements of the scheduled case and maintains physician’s preference card
• Promotes and maintains a sterile environment in all job assignments
• Performs scrubbing circulating duties as directed
• Performs assigned operating room cleanup tasks including disposal, cleaning, inventory and restocking of supplies and equipment
• Assists in the performance of more complicated treatments, diagnostic procedures and physical examinations as per instructions from registered nurse with documented competency
• Assists other members of the perioperative team in providing care throughout the continuum of the perioperative experience
• Performs various clerical functions in support of department operations
• Participates in department meetings, in-services
• Serves as a role model for service excellence and commits to Studer Principles and “must haves”
