Job summary

JumpStart Games is seeking a qualified OR Technician to support perioperative care in our surgical suite in Lakeland, Florida. You will assist with patient positioning, aseptic setup, and instrument handling to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements include high school diploma or GED, formal OR Technician training, and certification as a surgical technologist; CGRN preferred with ACLS anticipated within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Formal training as an OR Technician required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist required.
• Preferred CGRN; ACLS certification within 3 months of employment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with perioperative patient care and positioning to meet patient and surgeon needs.
• Prepare the surgical suite: clean, stock, and replace supplies.
• Open sterile supplies aseptically and maintain sterile field; address any breaches.
• Follow center protocols and manufacturers’ guidelines for supplies and equipment.
• Check equipment for safe operation and document issues.
• Set up sterile table with instruments, sutures, blades, electrosurgical equipment, suction, and solutions.
• Assist with specimen handling, prep incisions, and post-op dressing per surgeon preference.
• Support room turnover and keep surgeon's preference cards current; decontaminate instruments.
• Hands instruments to surgeon, passes retractors, cuts sutures, and assists during operation.
• Stay calm and work as a team member during stress or crisis, applying cost containment principles.
