Job summary

Wabash General Hospital in Mount Carmel, IL is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support all surgical areas including Central Supply and Outpatient Surgery. The role involves scrubbing cases, assisting in general, orthopedic, spine, and ENT procedures, and maintaining a sterile field.

Candidates must graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program, hold CST certification, and maintain CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technologists.
• Current CST certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• May be required to work any day of the week including holidays and weekends.
• Physical requirements include long periods of standing, lifting, stooping, bending, and pushing.

Responsibilities

• Scrub surgical cases across multiple specialties.
• Assist surgeons in general, orthopaedic, spine, and ENT procedures.
• Clean, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment using autoclave or chemical sterilization methods.
• Order and stock supplies; pass instruments to the surgeon and maintain sterile field.
• Assist in admitting and discharging patients from the surgical suite; collect and deliver specimens.
