Job summary

St. Mary's Medical Center in West Virginia is seeking a full-time Certified Surgical Tech to assist in the Operating Room by scrubbing or circulating for most types of surgery.

Under the supervision of a Staff Nurse or authorized designee, you will assist the surgeon and anesthetist within the limits of your technician education and may prepare supplies and instrumentation. A high school diploma with OR instruction and an AST or NCCT certification are required, with BLS and certification

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent who has completed an organized course of Operating Room instruction recognized by St. Mary's Medical Center.
• Completion of certification required within 1yr of graduating instructional course.
• BLS required.
• Previous Operating Room experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Scrub or circulate for most types of surgery in the Operating Room.
• Assist the surgeon and anesthetist within the limits of a technician's education.
• May perform some housekeeping and preparation of supplies and instrumentation.
