Job summary

Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, NC seeks a Surgical Technologist to support surgeries through all phases by preparing the OR and sterile field with instruments, equipment and supplies. You will assist the surgeon, maintain sterile technique, prepare equipment and sterilize instrumentation, and handle room turnover for the next day’s cases.

The role requires OR experience, understanding of sterile field and instrumentation, and BLS certification upon hire.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited education program for Surgical Technologists.
• CST certification desired.
• CBSPD Ambulatory certification desired.
• BLS-Certification upon hire.
• Previous OR experience with sterile field and instrumentation knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating rooms and sterile field with proper instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Assist the surgeon throughout the surgical procedure and maintain sterile technique.
• Prepare and sterilize surgical instrumentation; perform room turnover and terminal cleaning of OR suites.
• Pull case supplies for next day procedures.

Education

CST certification desired
