Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for St. Francis Medical Center in Richmond. The role supports the operative team by preparing sterile instruments and equipment, maintaining aseptic technique and assisting before, during, and after procedures.

Education requires an Associate degree or equivalent in Surgical Technology, with CST/NBSTA/NCCT certification. Virginia residents must have CST with the Virginia Board of Medicine.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology (required).
• Must be certified by CST/NBSTA/TS-C/NCCT (certifications accepted).
• Registered CST with the Virginia Board of Medicine required if residing in Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure and maintains aseptic technique.
• Prepares, maintains, and organizes sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure.
• Provides complete case preparation with the ability to adapt to special instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Assists with pre and post procedure cleaning of the operative room and instruments.
• Prepares and performs surgical skin prep and clipping as indicated by procedure.
