Job summary

Abrazo Arrowhead Campus is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to provide intra-operative support and assist the surgical team with instrument handling, sterile technique, and equipment setup. The role involves preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile fields, and contributing to CQI activities.

The ideal candidate will have formal Surgical Tech certification and CPR, with experience in operative procedures and instrumentation. Two years of hospital surgical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Formal education/training to obtain a Surgical Tech certification.
• Experience with operative procedures, equipment and instrumentation.
• Two years of hospital surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team as primary scrub person, handling instruments and supplies.
• Maintain sterile field and prepare operating rooms for surgery.
• Document sponge, instrument and needle counts.
• Follow current surgical scrub technology and medical terminology.
• Coordinate with circulating nurse to ensure case progress and patient safety; operate equipment and adhere to safety precautions.
• Label and handle specimens.
• Other related tasks as assigned.
