Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technician II Certified (CST) to work in a fast-paced operating room. You will anticipate the needs of the surgical team, prepare and pass instruments, and assist in turnover and sterilization between cases.

Requirements include CST certification, a Surgical Technologist program, BLS, and advanced competencies in at least three specialties. Day shift TBD with M-F schedule, supporting a Magnet-designated, award-winning hospital in Dallas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate of certified Surgical Technologist program or equivalent.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
• Advanced competencies in a minimum of 3 specialties.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate needs of the surgical team and obtain instrumentation and supplies for the procedure.
• Pass instruments to surgeon and assistant during the procedure.
• Assist with terminal cleaning of the room and preparation for the next case.
• Begin cleaning back table and preparing instruments for terminal cleaning and sterilization.
• Transport instruments to SPD and ensure proper labeling and policies are followed.
• Adhere to all policy procedures including count policy and universal protocols.
• Instruct students and junior staff on proper instrument passing techniques.
