Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center in Mansfield, TX seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist II to join the operating room team. This full-time, day shift position involves assisting with procedures, instrument setup, and sterile processing.

You will work Fri/Sat/Sun 7a-7p in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with surgeons and staff, and maintain compliance with universal protocols and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate of certified Surgical Technologist program, military trained, or AD in Surgical Technology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
• Advanced competencies in at least 3 surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate needs of the surgical team and obtain instrumentation and supplies for the procedure.
• Pass instruments to surgeon and assistant during procedure.
• Assist with terminal cleaning of room and preparation for the following case.
• Begin cleaning up back table and preparing instruments for terminal cleaning and sterilization as circulator prepares patient to leave the room.
• Place instruments back in the tray for transport to SPD.
• Know and adhere to all policies and procedures such as count policy, universal protocol and labeling of medications.
• Work with students and inexperienced staff on correct method for passing and retrieving instruments during surgical procedures.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Graduate of certified Surgical Technologist program / AD in Surgical Technology

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
