Job summary

Confluence Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to function as a vital member of the OR team. You will scrub during surgical interventions, maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to AORN standards and hospital policies.

The role reports to the Surgical Services Manager and involves assisting with instrument setup, safety checks, and staff training. Washington state certification and CST are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
• Current Washington State Surgical Technologist license.
• National Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists.
• LPN considered if trained in scrubbing role – dependent upon experience.

Responsibilities

• Assumes the scrub position during surgical interventions.
• Maintains a safe, aseptic environment per AORN Standards and hospital policies.
• Addresses patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous manner.
• Demonstrates proper use of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Prepares instrumentation and supplies as per surgeon preference.
• Participates in orientation and training of new staff and students.
• Follows correct counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Reports faulty equipment and unsafe conditions promptly.
